ছোয়াদ (আরবি বর্ণ)
بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ
শুরু করছি আল্লাহর নামে যিনি পরম করুণাময়, অতি দয়ালু
[1] ص ۚ وَالقُرءانِ ذِى الذِّكرِ
[1] ছোয়াদ। শপথ উপদেশপূর্ণ কোরআনের,
[1] Sâd [These letters (Sâd etc.) are one of the miracles of the Qur'ân and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings]. By the Qur'ân full of reminding (explaination and honour for the one who believes in it).
[2] بَلِ الَّذينَ كَفَروا فى عِزَّةٍ وَشِقاقٍ
[2] বরং যারা কাফের, তারা অহংকার ও বিরোধিতায় লিপ্ত।
[2] Nay, those who desbelieve are in false pride and opposition.
[3] كَم أَهلَكنا مِن قَبلِهِم مِن قَرنٍ فَنادَوا وَلاتَ حينَ مَناصٍ
[3] তাদের আগে আমি কত জনগোষ্ঠীকে ধ্বংস করেছি, অতঃপর তারা আর্তনাদ করতে শুরু করেছে কিন্তু তাদের নিষ্কৃতি লাভের সময় ছিল না।
[3] How many a generation We have destroyed before them, And they cried out when there was no longer time for escape!
[4] وَعَجِبوا أَن جاءَهُم مُنذِرٌ مِنهُم ۖ وَقالَ الكٰفِرونَ هٰذا سٰحِرٌ كَذّابٌ
[4] তারা বিস্ময়বোধ করে যে, তাদেরই কাছে তাদের মধ্যে থেকে একজন সতর্ককারী আগমন করেছেন। আর কাফেররা বলে এ-তো এক মিথ্যাচারী যাদুকর।
[4] And they (Arab pagans) wonder that a warner (Prophet Muhammad SAW) has come to them from among themselves! And the disbelievers say: "This (Prophet Muhammad SAW) is a sorcerer, a liar.
[5] أَجَعَلَ الءالِهَةَ إِلٰهًا وٰحِدًا ۖ إِنَّ هٰذا لَشَيءٌ عُجابٌ
[5] সে কি বহু উপাস্যের পরিবর্তে এক উপাস্যের উপাসনা সাব্যস্ত করে দিয়েছে। নিশ্চয় এটা এক বিস্ময়কর ব্যাপার।
[5] "Has he made the âlihah (gods) (all) into One Ilâh (God - Allâh). Verily, this is a curious thing!"
[6] وَانطَلَقَ المَلَأُ مِنهُم أَنِ امشوا وَاصبِروا عَلىٰ ءالِهَتِكُم ۖ إِنَّ هٰذا لَشَيءٌ يُرادُ
[6] তাদের কতিপয় বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তি একথা বলে প্রস্থান করে যে, তোমরা চলে যাও এবং তোমাদের উপাস্যদের পূজায় দৃঢ় থাক। নিশ্চয়ই এ বক্তব্য কোন বিশেষ উদ্দেশ্যে প্রণোদিত।
[6] And the leaders among them went about (saying): "Go on, and remain constant to your âliha (gods)! Verily, this is a thing designed (against you)!
[7] ما سَمِعنا بِهٰذا فِى المِلَّةِ الءاخِرَةِ إِن هٰذا إِلَّا اختِلٰقٌ
[7] আমরা সাবেক ধর্মে এ ধরনের কথা শুনিনি। এটা মনগড়া ব্যাপার বৈ নয়।
[7] "We have not heard (the like) of this in the religion of these later days (i.e. christianity). This is nothing but an invention! (Tafsir Al-Qurtabi)
[8] أَءُنزِلَ عَلَيهِ الذِّكرُ مِن بَينِنا ۚ بَل هُم فى شَكٍّ مِن ذِكرى ۖ بَل لَمّا يَذوقوا عَذابِ
[8] আমাদের মধ্য থেকে শুধু কি তারই প্রতি উপদেশ বানী অবতীর্ণ হল? বস্তুতঃ ওরা আমার উপদেশ সম্পর্কে সন্দিহান; বরং ওরা এখনও আমার মার আস্বাদন করেনি।
[8] "Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us?" Nay! but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Qur'ân)! Nay, but they have not tasted (My) Torment!
[9] أَم عِندَهُم خَزائِنُ رَحمَةِ رَبِّكَ العَزيزِ الوَهّابِ
[9] না কি তাদের কাছে আপনার পরাক্রান্ত দয়াবান পালনকর্তার রহমতের কোন ভান্ডার রয়েছে?
[9] Or have they the treasures of the Mercy of your Lord, the All-Mighty, the Real Bestower?
[10] أَم لَهُم مُلكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالأَرضِ وَما بَينَهُما ۖ فَليَرتَقوا فِى الأَسبٰبِ
[10] নাকি নভোমন্ডল, ভূমন্ডল ও এতদুভয়ের মধ্যবর্তী সবকিছুর উপর তাদের সাম্রাজ্য রয়েছে? থাকলে তাদের আকাশে আরোহণ করা উচিত রশি ঝুলিয়ে।
[10] Or is it that the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them is theirs? If so, let them ascend up with means (to the heavens)!
[11] جُندٌ ما هُنالِكَ مَهزومٌ مِنَ الأَحزابِ
[11] এক্ষেত্রে বহু বাহিনীর মধ্যে ওদেরও এক বাহিনী আছে, যা পরাজিত হবে।
[11] (As they denied Allâh's Message) they will be a defeated host like the confederates of the old times (who were defeated).
[12] كَذَّبَت قَبلَهُم قَومُ نوحٍ وَعادٌ وَفِرعَونُ ذُو الأَوتادِ
[12] তাদের পূর্বেও মিথ্যারোপ করেছিল নূহের সম্প্রদায়, আদ, কীলক বিশিষ্ট ফেরাউন,
[12] Before them (were many who) belied (Messengers),— the people of Nûh (Noah); and 'Ad; and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) the man of stakes (with which he used to punish the people),
[13] وَثَمودُ وَقَومُ لوطٍ وَأَصحٰبُ لـَٔيكَةِ ۚ أُولٰئِكَ الأَحزابُ
[13] সামুদ, লূতের সম্প্রদায় ও আইকার লোকেরা। এরাই ছিল বহু বাহিনী।
[13] And Thamûd, and the people of Lut (Lot), and the Dwellers of the wood; such were the confederates.
[14] إِن كُلٌّ إِلّا كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ عِقابِ
[14] এদের প্রত্যেকেই পয়গম্বরগণের প্রতি মিথ্যারোপ করেছে। ফলে আমার আযাব প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়েছে।
[14] Not one of them but belied the Messengers, therefore My Torment was justified,
[15] وَما يَنظُرُ هٰؤُلاءِ إِلّا صَيحَةً وٰحِدَةً ما لَها مِن فَواقٍ
[15] কেবল একটি মহানাদের অপেক্ষা করছে, যাতে দম ফেলার অবকাশ থাকবে না।
[15] And these only wait for a single Saihah [shout (i.e. the blowing of the Trumpet by the angel Isrâfil)] there will be no pause or ending thereto [till everything will perish except Allâh (the only God full of Majesty, Bounty and Honour)].
[16] وَقالوا رَبَّنا عَجِّل لَنا قِطَّنا قَبلَ يَومِ الحِسابِ
[16] তারা বলে, হে আমাদের পরওয়ারদেগার, আমাদের প্রাপ্য অংশ হিসাব দিবসের আগেই দিয়ে দাও।
[16] They say: "Our Lord! Hasten to us Qittana (i.e. our Record of good and bad deeds so that we may see it) before the Day of Reckoning!"
[17] اصبِر عَلىٰ ما يَقولونَ وَاذكُر عَبدَنا داوۥدَ ذَا الأَيدِ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوّابٌ
[17] তারা যা বলে তাতে আপনি সবর করুন এবং আমার শক্তিশালী বান্দা দাউদকে স্মরণ করুন। সে ছিল আমার প্রতি প্রত্যাবর্তনশীল।
[17] Be patient (O Muhammad SAW) of what they say, and remember Our slave Dâwûd (David), endued with power. Verily, he was ever oft-returning in all matters and in repentance (toward Allâh).
[18] إِنّا سَخَّرنَا الجِبالَ مَعَهُ يُسَبِّحنَ بِالعَشِىِّ وَالإِشراقِ
[18] আমি পর্বতমালাকে তার অনুগামী করে দিয়েছিলাম, তারা সকাল-সন্ধ্যায় তার সাথে পবিত্রতা ঘোষণা করত;
[18] Verily, We made the mountains to glorify Our Praises with him [Dâwûd (David)] in the 'Ashi (i.e. after the mid-day till sunset) and Ishrâq (i.e. after the sunrise till mid-day).
[19] وَالطَّيرَ مَحشورَةً ۖ كُلٌّ لَهُ أَوّابٌ
[19] আর পক্ষীকুলকেও, যারা তার কাছে সমবেত হত। সবাই ছিল তাঁর প্রতি প্রত্যাবর্তনশীল।
[19] And (so did) the birds assembled: all obedient to him [Dâwûd (David)] [i.e. they came and glorified Allah's Praises along with him]. (Tafsir Al-Qurtubi)
[20] وَشَدَدنا مُلكَهُ وَءاتَينٰهُ الحِكمَةَ وَفَصلَ الخِطابِ
[20] আমি তাঁর সাম্রাজ্যকে সুদৃঢ় করেছিলাম এবং তাঁকে দিয়েছিলাম প্রজ্ঞা ও ফয়সালাকারী বাগ্নীতা।
[20] We made his kingdom strong and gave him Al-Hikmah (Prophethood) and sound judgement in speech and decision.
[21] ۞ وَهَل أَتىٰكَ نَبَؤُا۟ الخَصمِ إِذ تَسَوَّرُوا المِحرابَ
[21] আপনার কাছে দাবীদারদের বৃত্তান্ত পৌছেছে, যখন তারা প্রাচীর ডিঙ্গীয়ে এবাদত খানায় প্রবেশ করেছিল।
[21] And has the news of the litigants reached you? When they climbed over the wall into (his) Mihrâb (a praying place or a private room,)
[22] إِذ دَخَلوا عَلىٰ داوۥدَ فَفَزِعَ مِنهُم ۖ قالوا لا تَخَف ۖ خَصمانِ بَغىٰ بَعضُنا عَلىٰ بَعضٍ فَاحكُم بَينَنا بِالحَقِّ وَلا تُشطِط وَاهدِنا إِلىٰ سَواءِ الصِّرٰطِ
[22] যখন তারা দাউদের কাছে অনুপ্রবেশ করল, তখন সে সন্ত্রস্ত হয়ে পড়ল। তারা বললঃ ভয় করবেন না; আমরা বিবদমান দুটি পক্ষ, একে অপরের প্রতি বাড়াবাড়ি করেছি। অতএব, আমাদের মধ্যে ন্যায়বিচার করুন, অবিচার করবেন না। আমাদেরকে সরল পথ প্রদর্শন করুন।
[22] When they entered in upon Dâwûd (David), he was terrified of them, They said: "Fear not! (We are) two litigants, one of whom has wronged the other, therefore judge between us with truth, and treat us not with injustice, and guide us to the Right Way.
[23] إِنَّ هٰذا أَخى لَهُ تِسعٌ وَتِسعونَ نَعجَةً وَلِىَ نَعجَةٌ وٰحِدَةٌ فَقالَ أَكفِلنيها وَعَزَّنى فِى الخِطابِ
[23] সে আমার ভাই, সে নিরানব্বই দুম্বার মালিক আর আমি মালিক একটি মাদী দুম্বার। এরপরও সে বলেঃ এটিও আমাকে দিয়ে দাও। সে কথাবার্তায় আমার উপর বল প্রয়োগ করে।
[23] Verily, this my brother (in religion) has ninety nine ewes, while I have (only) one ewe, and he says: "Hand it over to me, and he overpowered me in speech."
[24] قالَ لَقَد ظَلَمَكَ بِسُؤالِ نَعجَتِكَ إِلىٰ نِعاجِهِ ۖ وَإِنَّ كَثيرًا مِنَ الخُلَطاءِ لَيَبغى بَعضُهُم عَلىٰ بَعضٍ إِلَّا الَّذينَ ءامَنوا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ وَقَليلٌ ما هُم ۗ وَظَنَّ داوۥدُ أَنَّما فَتَنّٰهُ فَاستَغفَرَ رَبَّهُ وَخَرَّ راكِعًا وَأَنابَ ۩
[24] দাউদ বললঃ সে তোমার দুম্বাটিকে নিজের দুম্বাগুলোর সাথে সংযুক্ত করার দাবী করে তোমার প্রতি অবিচার করেছে। শরীকদের অনেকেই একে অপরের প্রতি জুলুম করে থাকে। তবে তারা করে না, যারা আল্লাহর প্রতি বিশ্বাসী ও সৎকর্ম সম্পাদনকারী। অবশ্য এমন লোকের সংখ্যা অল্প। দাউদের খেয়াল হল যে, আমি তাকে পরীক্ষা করছি। অতঃপর সে তার পালনকর্তার কাছে ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা করল, সেজদায় লুটিয়ে পড়ল এবং তাঁর দিকে প্রত্যাবর্তন করল।
[24] [Dâwûd (David)] said (immediately without listening to the opponent): "He has wronged you in demanding your ewe in addition to his ewes. And, verily, many partners oppress one another, except those who believe and do righteous good deeds, and they are few." And Dâwûd (David) guessed that We have tried him and he sought Forgiveness of his Lord, and he fell down prostrate and turned (to Allâh) in repentance.
[25] فَغَفَرنا لَهُ ذٰلِكَ ۖ وَإِنَّ لَهُ عِندَنا لَزُلفىٰ وَحُسنَ مَـٔابٍ
[25] আমি তার সে অপরাধ ক্ষমা করলাম। নিশ্চয় আমার কাছে তার জন্যে রয়েছে উচ্চ মর্তবা ও সুন্দর আবাসস্থল।
[25] So We forgave him that, and verily, for him is a near access to Us, and a good place of (final) return (Paradise).
[26] يٰداوۥدُ إِنّا جَعَلنٰكَ خَليفَةً فِى الأَرضِ فَاحكُم بَينَ النّاسِ بِالحَقِّ وَلا تَتَّبِعِ الهَوىٰ فَيُضِلَّكَ عَن سَبيلِ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ الَّذينَ يَضِلّونَ عَن سَبيلِ اللَّهِ لَهُم عَذابٌ شَديدٌ بِما نَسوا يَومَ الحِسابِ
[26] হে দাউদ! আমি তোমাকে পৃথিবীতে প্রতিনিধি করেছি, অতএব, তুমি মানুষের মাঝে ন্যায়সঙ্গতভাবে রাজত্ব কর এবং খেয়াল-খুশীর অনুসরণ করো না। তা তোমাকে আল্লাহর পথ থেকে বিচ্যুত করে দেবে। নিশ্চয় যারা আল্লাহর পথ থেকে বিচ্যুত হয়, তাদের জন্যে রয়েছে কঠোর শাস্তি, এ কারণে যে, তারা হিসাবদিবসকে ভূলে যায়।
[26] O Dâwûd (David)! Verily! We have placed you as a successor on earth, so judge you between men in truth (and justice) and follow not your desire for it will mislead you from the Path of Allâh. Verily! those who wander astray from the Path of Allâh (shall) have a severe torment, because they forgot the Day of Reckoning.
[27] وَما خَلَقنَا السَّماءَ وَالأَرضَ وَما بَينَهُما بٰطِلًا ۚ ذٰلِكَ ظَنُّ الَّذينَ كَفَروا ۚ فَوَيلٌ لِلَّذينَ كَفَروا مِنَ النّارِ
[27] আমি আসমান-যমীন ও এতদুভয়ের মধ্যবর্তী কোন কিছু অযথা সৃষ্টি করিনি। এটা কাফেরদের ধারণা। অতএব, কাফেরদের জন্যে রয়েছে দূর্ভোগ অর্থাৎ জাহান্নাম।
[27] And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them without purpose! That is the consideration of those who disbelieve! Then woe to those who disbelieve (in Islâmic Monotheism) from the Fire!
[28] أَم نَجعَلُ الَّذينَ ءامَنوا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ كَالمُفسِدينَ فِى الأَرضِ أَم نَجعَلُ المُتَّقينَ كَالفُجّارِ
[28] আমি কি বিশ্বাসী ও সৎকর্মীদেরকে পৃথিবীতে বিপর্যয় সৃষ্টিকারী কাফেরদের সমতুল্য করে দেব? না খোদাভীরুদেরকে পাপাচারীদের সম্মান করে দেব।
[28] Shall We treat those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh — Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, as Mufsidûn (those who associate partners in worship with Allâh and commit crimes) on earth? Or shall We treat the Muttaqûn (pious - see V.2:2), as the Fujjâr (criminals, disbelievers, the wicked)?
[29] كِتٰبٌ أَنزَلنٰهُ إِلَيكَ مُبٰرَكٌ لِيَدَّبَّروا ءايٰتِهِ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُولُوا الأَلبٰبِ
[29] এটি একটি বরকতময় কিতাব, যা আমি আপনার প্রতি বরকত হিসেবে অবতীর্ণ করেছি, যাতে মানুষ এর আয়াতসূহ লক্ষ্য করে এবং বুদ্ধিমানগণ যেন তা অনুধাবন করে।
[29] (This is) a Book (the Qur'ân) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember.
[30] وَوَهَبنا لِداوۥدَ سُلَيمٰنَ ۚ نِعمَ العَبدُ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوّابٌ
[30] আমি দাউদকে সোলায়মান দান করেছি। সে একজন উত্তম বান্দা। সে ছিল প্রত্যাবর্তনশীল।
[30] And to Dâwûd (David) We gave Sulaimân (Solomon). How excellent a slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)!
[31] إِذ عُرِضَ عَلَيهِ بِالعَشِىِّ الصّٰفِنٰتُ الجِيادُ
[31] যখন তার সামনে অপরাহ্নে উৎকৃষ্ট অশ্বরাজি পেশ করা হল,
[31] When there were displayed before him, in the afternoon, well trained horses of the highest breed [for Jihâd (holy fighting in Allâh's Cause)]
[32] فَقالَ إِنّى أَحبَبتُ حُبَّ الخَيرِ عَن ذِكرِ رَبّى حَتّىٰ تَوارَت بِالحِجابِ
[32] তখন সে বললঃ আমি তো আমার পরওয়ারদেগারের স্মরণে বিস্মৃত হয়ে সম্পদের মহব্বতে মুগ্ধ হয়ে পড়েছি-এমনকি সূর্য ডুবে গেছে।
[32] And He said: "I did love the good (these horses) instead of remembering my Lord (in my 'Asr prayer)" till the time was over, and (the sun) had hidden in the veil (of night).
[33] رُدّوها عَلَىَّ ۖ فَطَفِقَ مَسحًا بِالسّوقِ وَالأَعناقِ
[33] এগুলোকে আমার কাছে ফিরিয়ে আন। অতঃপর সে তাদের পা ও গলদেশ ছেদন করতে শুরু করল।
[33] Then he said "Bring them (horses) back to me." Then he began to pass his hand over their legs and their necks (till the end of the display).
[34] وَلَقَد فَتَنّا سُلَيمٰنَ وَأَلقَينا عَلىٰ كُرسِيِّهِ جَسَدًا ثُمَّ أَنابَ
[34] আমি সোলায়মানকে পরীক্ষা করলাম এবং রেখে দিলাম তার সিংহাসনের উপর একটি নিস্প্রাণ দেহ। অতঃপর সে রুজু হল।
[34] And, indeed We did try Sulaimân (Solomon) and We placed on his throne Jasad (a devil, so he lost his kingdom for a while) and he did return (to Allâh with obedience and in repentance and to his throne and kingdom by the Grace of Allâh).
[35] قالَ رَبِّ اغفِر لى وَهَب لى مُلكًا لا يَنبَغى لِأَحَدٍ مِن بَعدى ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الوَهّابُ
[35] সোলায়মান বললঃ হে আমার পালনকর্তা, আমাকে মাফ করুন এবং আমাকে এমন সাম্রাজ্য দান করুন যা আমার পরে আর কেউ পেতে পারবে না। নিশ্চয় আপনি মহাদাতা।
[35] He said: "My Lord! Forgive me, and bestow upon me a kingdom such as shall not belong to any other after me: Verily, You are the Bestower."
[36] فَسَخَّرنا لَهُ الرّيحَ تَجرى بِأَمرِهِ رُخاءً حَيثُ أَصابَ
[36] তখন আমি বাতাসকে তার অনুগত করে দিলাম, যা তার হুকুমে অবাধে প্রবাহিত হত যেখানে সে পৌছাতে চাইত।
[36] So, We subjected to him the wind, it blew gently his order whithersoever he willed,
[37] وَالشَّيٰطينَ كُلَّ بَنّاءٍ وَغَوّاصٍ
[37] আর সকল শয়তানকে তার অধীন করে দিলাম অর্থৎ, যারা ছিল প্রাসাদ নির্মাণকারী ও ডুবুরী।
[37] And also the Shayâtin (devils) from the jinn (including) every kind of builder and diver,
[38] وَءاخَرينَ مُقَرَّنينَ فِى الأَصفادِ
[38] এবং অন্য আরও অনেককে অধীন করে দিলাম, যারা আবদ্ধ থাকত শৃঙ্খলে।
[38] And also others bound in fetters.
[39] هٰذا عَطاؤُنا فَامنُن أَو أَمسِك بِغَيرِ حِسابٍ
[39] এগুলো আমার অনুগ্রহ, অতএব, এগুলো কাউকে দাও অথবা নিজে রেখে দাও-এর কোন হিসেব দিতে হবে না।
[39] [Allâh said to Sulaimân (Solomon)]: "This is Our gift, so spend you or withhold, no account will be asked (of you)."
[40] وَإِنَّ لَهُ عِندَنا لَزُلفىٰ وَحُسنَ مَـٔابٍ
[40] নিশ্চয় তার জন্যে আমার কাছে রয়েছে মর্যাদা ও শুভ পরিণতি।
[40] And verily, for him is a near access to Us, and a good (final) return (Paradise).
[41] وَاذكُر عَبدَنا أَيّوبَ إِذ نادىٰ رَبَّهُ أَنّى مَسَّنِىَ الشَّيطٰنُ بِنُصبٍ وَعَذابٍ
[41] স্মরণ করুণ, আমার বান্দা আইয়্যুবের কথা, যখন সে তার পালনকর্তাকে আহবান করে বললঃ শয়তান আমাকে যন্ত্রণা ও কষ্ট পৌছিয়েছে।
[41] And remember Our slave Ayyûb (Job), when he invoked his Lord (saying): "Verily! Shaitân (Satan) has touched me with distress (by ruing my health) and torment (by ruing my wealth)!
[42] اركُض بِرِجلِكَ ۖ هٰذا مُغتَسَلٌ بارِدٌ وَشَرابٌ
[42] তুমি তোমার পা দিয়ে ভূমিতে আঘাত কর। ঝরণা নির্গত হল গোসল করার জন্যে শীতল ও পান করার জন্যে।
[42] (Allâh said to him): "Strike the ground with your foot: This is (a spring of) water to wash in, cool and a (refreshing) drink."
[43] وَوَهَبنا لَهُ أَهلَهُ وَمِثلَهُم مَعَهُم رَحمَةً مِنّا وَذِكرىٰ لِأُولِى الأَلبٰبِ
[43] আমি তাকে দিলাম তার পরিজনবর্গ ও তাদের মত আরও অনেক আমার পক্ষ থেকে রহমতস্বরূপ এবং বুদ্ধিমানদের জন্যে উপদেশস্বরূপ।
[43] And We gave him (back) his family, and along with them the like thereof, as a Mercy from Us, and a Reminder for those who understand.
[44] وَخُذ بِيَدِكَ ضِغثًا فَاضرِب بِهِ وَلا تَحنَث ۗ إِنّا وَجَدنٰهُ صابِرًا ۚ نِعمَ العَبدُ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوّابٌ
[44] তুমি তোমার হাতে এক মুঠো তৃণশলা নাও, তদ্বারা আঘাত কর এবং শপথ ভঙ্গ করো না। আমি তাকে পেলাম সবরকারী। চমৎকার বান্দা সে। নিশ্চয় সে ছিল প্রত্যাবর্তনশীল।
[44] "And take in your hand a bundle of thin grass and strike therewith (your wife), and break not your oath . Truly! We found him patient. How excellent (a) slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)!
[45] وَاذكُر عِبٰدَنا إِبرٰهيمَ وَإِسحٰقَ وَيَعقوبَ أُولِى الأَيدى وَالأَبصٰرِ
[45] স্মরণ করুন, হাত ও চোখের অধিকারী আমার বান্দা ইব্রাহীম, ইসহাক ও ইয়াকুবের কথা।
[45] And remember Our slaves, Ibrâhim (Abraham), Ishâq (Isaac), and Ya'qûb (Jacob), (all) owners of strength (in worshipping Us) and (also) of religious understanding.
[46] إِنّا أَخلَصنٰهُم بِخالِصَةٍ ذِكرَى الدّارِ
[46] আমি তাদের এক বিশেষ গুণ তথা পরকালের স্মরণ দ্বারা স্বাতন্ত্র্য দান করেছিলাম।
[46] Verily, We did choose them by granting them (a good thing,— i.e.) the remembrance of the home [in the Hereafter and they used to make the people remember it, and also they used to invite the people to obey Allâh and to do good deeds for the Hereafter].
[47] وَإِنَّهُم عِندَنا لَمِنَ المُصطَفَينَ الأَخيارِ
[47] আর তারা আমার কাছে মনোনীত ও সৎলোকদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত।
[47] And they are with Us, verily, of the chosen and the best!
[48] وَاذكُر إِسمٰعيلَ وَاليَسَعَ وَذَا الكِفلِ ۖ وَكُلٌّ مِنَ الأَخيارِ
[48] স্মরণ করুণ, ইসমাঈল, আল ইয়াসা ও যুলকিফলের কথা। তারা প্রত্যেকেই গুনীজন।
[48] And remember Ismâ'il (Ishmael), Al¬Yasa'â (Elisha), and Dhul-Kifl (Isaiah), all are among the best.
[49] هٰذا ذِكرٌ ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلمُتَّقينَ لَحُسنَ مَـٔابٍ
[49] এ এক মহৎ আলোচনা। খোদাভীরুদের জন্যে রয়েছে উত্তম ঠিকানা-
[49] This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqûn (pious and righteous persons - see V.2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), -,
[50] جَنّٰتِ عَدنٍ مُفَتَّحَةً لَهُمُ الأَبوٰبُ
[50] তথা স্থায়ী বসবাসের জান্নাত; তাদের জন্যে তার দ্বার উম্মুক্ত রয়েছে।
[50] 'Adn (Edn) Paradise (everlasting Gardens), whose doors will be opened for them.
[51] مُتَّكِـٔينَ فيها يَدعونَ فيها بِفٰكِهَةٍ كَثيرَةٍ وَشَرابٍ
[51] সেখানে তারা হেলান দিয়ে বসবে। তারা সেখানে চাইবে অনেক ফল-মূল ও পানীয়।
[51] Therein they will recline; therein they will call for fruits in abundance and drinks;
[52] ۞ وَعِندَهُم قٰصِرٰتُ الطَّرفِ أَترابٌ
[52] তাদের কাছে থাকবে আনতনয়না সমবয়স্কা রমণীগণ।
[52] And beside them will be Qasirat-at-Tarf chaste females (wives) restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands)], (and) of equal ages.
[53] هٰذا ما توعَدونَ لِيَومِ الحِسابِ
[53] তোমাদেরকে এরই প্রতিশ্রুতি দেয়া হচ্ছে বিচার দিবসের জন্যে।
[53] This it is what you (Al-Muttaqûn - the pious. See V.2:2) are promised for the Day of Reckoning!
[54] إِنَّ هٰذا لَرِزقُنا ما لَهُ مِن نَفادٍ
[54] এটা আমার দেয়া রিযিক যা শেষ হবে না।
[54] (It will be said to them)! Verily, this is Our Provision which will never finish;
[55] هٰذا ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلطّٰغينَ لَشَرَّ مَـٔابٍ
[55] এটাতো শুনলে, এখন দুষ্টদের জন্যে রয়েছে নিকৃষ্ট ঠিকানা
[55] This is so! And for the Tâghûn (transgressors, disobedient to Allâh and His Messenger - disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh, criminals), will be an evil final return (Fire),
[56] جَهَنَّمَ يَصلَونَها فَبِئسَ المِهادُ
[56] তথা জাহান্নাম। তারা সেখানে প্রবেশ করবে। অতএব, কত নিকৃষ্ট সেই আবাস স্থল।
[56] Hell! Where they will burn, and worst (indeed) is that place to rest!
[57] هٰذا فَليَذوقوهُ حَميمٌ وَغَسّاقٌ
[57] এটা উত্তপ্ত পানি ও পঁূজ; অতএব তারা একে আস্বাদন করুক।
[57] This is so! Then let them taste it, a boiling fluid and dirty wound discharges.
[58] وَءاخَرُ مِن شَكلِهِ أَزوٰجٌ
[58] এ ধরনের আরও কিছু শাস্তি আছে।
[58] And other (torments) of similar kind — all together!
[59] هٰذا فَوجٌ مُقتَحِمٌ مَعَكُم ۖ لا مَرحَبًا بِهِم ۚ إِنَّهُم صالُوا النّارِ
[59] এই তো একদল তোমাদের সাথে প্রবেশ করছে। তাদের জন্যে অভিনন্দন নেই তারা তো জাহান্নামে প্রবেশ করবে।
[59] This is a troop entering with you (in Hell), no welcome for them! Verily, they shall burn in the Fire!
[60] قالوا بَل أَنتُم لا مَرحَبًا بِكُم ۖ أَنتُم قَدَّمتُموهُ لَنا ۖ فَبِئسَ القَرارُ
[60] তারা বলবে, তোমাদের জন্যে ও তো অভিনন্দন নেই। তোমরাই আমাদেরকে এ বিপদের সম্মুখীন করেছ। অতএব, এটি কতই না ঘৃণ্য আবাসস্থল।
[60] (The followers of the misleaders will say): "Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you! It is you (misleaders) who brought this upon us (because you misled us in the world), so evil is this place to stay in!"
[61] قالوا رَبَّنا مَن قَدَّمَ لَنا هٰذا فَزِدهُ عَذابًا ضِعفًا فِى النّارِ
[61] তারা বলবে, হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, যে আমাদেরকে এর সম্মুখীন করেছে, আপনি জাহান্নামে তার শাস্তি দ্বিগুণ করে দিন।
[61] They will say: "Our Lord! Whoever brought this upon us, add to him a double torment in the Fire!"
[62] وَقالوا ما لَنا لا نَرىٰ رِجالًا كُنّا نَعُدُّهُم مِنَ الأَشرارِ
[62] তারা আরও বলবে, আমাদের কি হল যে, আমরা যাদেরকে মন্দ লোক বলে গণ্য করতাম, তাদেরকে এখানে দেখছি না।
[62] And they will say: "What is the matter with us that we see not men whom we used to count among the bad ones?"
[63] أَتَّخَذنٰهُم سِخرِيًّا أَم زاغَت عَنهُمُ الأَبصٰرُ
[63] আমরা কি অহেতুক তাদেরকে ঠাট্টার পাত্র করে নিয়েছিলাম, না আমাদের দৃষ্টি ভুল করছে?
[63] Did we take them as an object of mockery, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?"
[64] إِنَّ ذٰلِكَ لَحَقٌّ تَخاصُمُ أَهلِ النّارِ
[64] এটা অর্থাৎ জাহান্নামীদের পারস্পরিক বাক-বিতন্ডা অবশ্যম্ভাবী।
[64] Verily, that is the very truth, the mutual dispute of the people of the Fire!
[65] قُل إِنَّما أَنا۠ مُنذِرٌ ۖ وَما مِن إِلٰهٍ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الوٰحِدُ القَهّارُ
[65] বলুন, আমি তো একজন সতর্ককারী মাত্র এবং এক পরাক্রমশালী আল্লাহ ব্যতীত কোন উপাস্য নেই।
[65] Say (O Muhammad SAW): "I am only a warner and there is no Ilâh (God) except Allâh (none has the right to be worshipped but Allâh) the One, the Irresistible,
[66] رَبُّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالأَرضِ وَما بَينَهُمَا العَزيزُ الغَفّٰرُ
[66] তিনি আসমান-যমীন ও এতদুভয়ের মধ্যবর্তী সব কিছুর পালনকর্তা, পরাক্রমশালী, মার্জনাকারী।
[66] "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving."
[67] قُل هُوَ نَبَؤٌا۟ عَظيمٌ
[67] বলুন, এটি এক মহাসংবাদ,
[67] Say: "That (this Qur'ân) is a great news,
[69] ما كانَ لِىَ مِن عِلمٍ بِالمَلَإِ الأَعلىٰ إِذ يَختَصِمونَ
[69] ঊর্ধ্ব জগৎ সম্পর্কে আমার কোন জ্ঞান ছিল না যখন ফেরেশতারা কথাবার্তা বলছিল।
[69] "I had no knowledge of the chiefs (angels) on high when they were disputing and discussing (about the creation of Adam).
[70] إِن يوحىٰ إِلَىَّ إِلّا أَنَّما أَنا۠ نَذيرٌ مُبينٌ
[70] আমার কাছে এ ওহীই আসে যে, আমি একজন স্পষ্ট সতর্ককারী।
[70] "Only this has been revealed to me, that I am a plain warner."
[71] إِذ قالَ رَبُّكَ لِلمَلٰئِكَةِ إِنّى خٰلِقٌ بَشَرًا مِن طينٍ
[71] যখন আপনার পালনকর্তা ফেরেশতাগণকে বললেন, আমি মাটির মানুষ সৃষ্টি করব।
[71] (Remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "Truly, I am going to create man from clay"
[72] فَإِذا سَوَّيتُهُ وَنَفَختُ فيهِ مِن روحى فَقَعوا لَهُ سٰجِدينَ
[72] যখন আমি তাকে সুষম করব এবং তাতে আমার রূহ ফুঁকে দেব, তখন তোমরা তার সম্মুখে সেজদায় নত হয়ে যেয়ো।
[72] So when I have fashioned him and breathed into him (his) soul created by Me, then you fall down prostrate to him."
[73] فَسَجَدَ المَلٰئِكَةُ كُلُّهُم أَجمَعونَ
[73] অতঃপর সমস্ত ফেরেশতাই একযোগে সেজদায় নত হল,
[73] So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them:
[74] إِلّا إِبليسَ استَكبَرَ وَكانَ مِنَ الكٰفِرينَ
[74] কিন্তু ইবলীস; সে অহংকার করল এবং অস্বীকারকারীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়ে গেল।
[74] Except Iblîs (Satan) he was proud and was one of the disbelievers.
[75] قالَ يٰإِبليسُ ما مَنَعَكَ أَن تَسجُدَ لِما خَلَقتُ بِيَدَىَّ ۖ أَستَكبَرتَ أَم كُنتَ مِنَ العالينَ
[75] আল্লাহ বললেন, হে ইবলীস, আমি স্বহস্তে যাকে সৃষ্টি করেছি, তার সম্মুখে সেজদা করতে তোমাকে কিসে বাধা দিল? তুমি অহংকার করলে, না তুমি তার চেয়ে উচ্চ মর্যাদা সম্পন্ন?
[75] (Allâh) said: "O Iblîs (Satan)! What prevents you from prostrating yourself to one whom I have created with Both My Hands. Are you too proud (to fall prostrate to Adam) or are you one of the high exalted?"
[76] قالَ أَنا۠ خَيرٌ مِنهُ ۖ خَلَقتَنى مِن نارٍ وَخَلَقتَهُ مِن طينٍ
[76] সে বললঃ আমি তার চেয়ে উত্তম আপনি আমাকে আগুনের দ্বারা সৃষ্টি করেছেন, আর তাকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন মাটির দ্বারা।
[76] [Iblîs (Satan)] said: "I am better than he, You created me from fire, and You created him from clay."
[77] قالَ فَاخرُج مِنها فَإِنَّكَ رَجيمٌ
[77] আল্লাহ বললেনঃ বের হয়ে যা, এখান থেকে। কারণ, তুই অভিশপ্ত।
[77] (Allâh) said: "Then get out from here, for verily, you are outcast.
[78] وَإِنَّ عَلَيكَ لَعنَتى إِلىٰ يَومِ الدّينِ
[78] তোর প্রতি আমার এ অভিশাপ বিচার দিবস পর্যন্ত স্থায়ী হবে।
[78] "And verily!, My Curse is on you till the Day of Recompense."
[79] قالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرنى إِلىٰ يَومِ يُبعَثونَ
[79] সে বললঃ হে আমার পালনকর্তা, আপনি আমাকে পুনরুত্থান দিবস পর্যন্ত অবকাশ দিন।
[79] [Iblîs (Satan)] said: "My Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are resurrected."
[80] قالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ المُنظَرينَ
[80] আল্লঅহ বললেনঃ তোকে অবকাশ দেয়া হল।
[80] (Allâh) said: "Verily! You are of those allowed respite
[81] إِلىٰ يَومِ الوَقتِ المَعلومِ
[81] সে সময়ের দিন পর্যন্ত যা জানা।
[81] "Till the Day of the time appointed."
[82] قالَ فَبِعِزَّتِكَ لَأُغوِيَنَّهُم أَجمَعينَ
[82] সে বলল, আপনার ইযযতের কসম, আমি অবশ্যই তাদের সবাইকে বিপথগামী করে দেব।
[82] [Iblîs (Satan)] said: "By Your Might, then I will surely mislead them all,
[83] إِلّا عِبادَكَ مِنهُمُ المُخلَصينَ
[83] তবে তাদের মধ্যে যারা আপনার খাঁটি বান্দা, তাদেরকে ছাড়া।
[83] "Except Your chosen slaves amongst them (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islâmic Monotheism)."
[84] قالَ فَالحَقُّ وَالحَقَّ أَقولُ
[84] আল্লাহ বললেনঃ তাই ঠিক, আর আমি সত্য বলছি-
[84] (Allâh) said: "The Truth is,— and the Truth I say, —
[85] لَأَملَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكَ وَمِمَّن تَبِعَكَ مِنهُم أَجمَعينَ
[85] তোর দ্বারা আর তাদের মধ্যে যারা তোর অনুসরণ করবে তাদের দ্বারা আমি জাহান্নাম পূর্ণ করব।
[85] That I will fill Hell with you [Iblîs (Satan)] and those of them (mankind) that follow you, together."
[86] قُل ما أَسـَٔلُكُم عَلَيهِ مِن أَجرٍ وَما أَنا۠ مِنَ المُتَكَلِّفينَ
[86] বলুন, আমি তোমাদের কাছে কোন প্রতিদান চাই না আর আমি লৌকিকতাকারীও নই।
[86] Say (O Muhammad SAW): "No wage do I ask of you for this (the Qur'ân), nor am I one of the Mutakallifûn (those who pretend and fabricate things which do not exist).
[87] إِن هُوَ إِلّا ذِكرٌ لِلعٰلَمينَ
[87] এটা তো বিশ্ববাসীর জন্যে এক উপদেশ মাত্র।
[87] "It (this Qur'ân) is only a Reminder for all the 'Alamîn (mankind and jinn).
[1] ص ۚ وَالقُرءانِ ذِى الذِّكرِ
[1] ছোয়াদ। শপথ উপদেশপূর্ণ কোরআনের,
[1] Sâd [These letters (Sâd etc.) are one of the miracles of the Qur'ân and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings]. By the Qur'ân full of reminding (explaination and honour for the one who believes in it).
[2] بَلِ الَّذينَ كَفَروا فى عِزَّةٍ وَشِقاقٍ
[2] বরং যারা কাফের, তারা অহংকার ও বিরোধিতায় লিপ্ত।
[2] Nay, those who desbelieve are in false pride and opposition.
[3] كَم أَهلَكنا مِن قَبلِهِم مِن قَرنٍ فَنادَوا وَلاتَ حينَ مَناصٍ
[3] তাদের আগে আমি কত জনগোষ্ঠীকে ধ্বংস করেছি, অতঃপর তারা আর্তনাদ করতে শুরু করেছে কিন্তু তাদের নিষ্কৃতি লাভের সময় ছিল না।
[3] How many a generation We have destroyed before them, And they cried out when there was no longer time for escape!
[4] وَعَجِبوا أَن جاءَهُم مُنذِرٌ مِنهُم ۖ وَقالَ الكٰفِرونَ هٰذا سٰحِرٌ كَذّابٌ
[4] তারা বিস্ময়বোধ করে যে, তাদেরই কাছে তাদের মধ্যে থেকে একজন সতর্ককারী আগমন করেছেন। আর কাফেররা বলে এ-তো এক মিথ্যাচারী যাদুকর।
[4] And they (Arab pagans) wonder that a warner (Prophet Muhammad SAW) has come to them from among themselves! And the disbelievers say: "This (Prophet Muhammad SAW) is a sorcerer, a liar.
[5] أَجَعَلَ الءالِهَةَ إِلٰهًا وٰحِدًا ۖ إِنَّ هٰذا لَشَيءٌ عُجابٌ
[5] সে কি বহু উপাস্যের পরিবর্তে এক উপাস্যের উপাসনা সাব্যস্ত করে দিয়েছে। নিশ্চয় এটা এক বিস্ময়কর ব্যাপার।
[5] "Has he made the âlihah (gods) (all) into One Ilâh (God - Allâh). Verily, this is a curious thing!"
[6] وَانطَلَقَ المَلَأُ مِنهُم أَنِ امشوا وَاصبِروا عَلىٰ ءالِهَتِكُم ۖ إِنَّ هٰذا لَشَيءٌ يُرادُ
[6] তাদের কতিপয় বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তি একথা বলে প্রস্থান করে যে, তোমরা চলে যাও এবং তোমাদের উপাস্যদের পূজায় দৃঢ় থাক। নিশ্চয়ই এ বক্তব্য কোন বিশেষ উদ্দেশ্যে প্রণোদিত।
[6] And the leaders among them went about (saying): "Go on, and remain constant to your âliha (gods)! Verily, this is a thing designed (against you)!
[7] ما سَمِعنا بِهٰذا فِى المِلَّةِ الءاخِرَةِ إِن هٰذا إِلَّا اختِلٰقٌ
[7] আমরা সাবেক ধর্মে এ ধরনের কথা শুনিনি। এটা মনগড়া ব্যাপার বৈ নয়।
[7] "We have not heard (the like) of this in the religion of these later days (i.e. christianity). This is nothing but an invention! (Tafsir Al-Qurtabi)
[8] أَءُنزِلَ عَلَيهِ الذِّكرُ مِن بَينِنا ۚ بَل هُم فى شَكٍّ مِن ذِكرى ۖ بَل لَمّا يَذوقوا عَذابِ
[8] আমাদের মধ্য থেকে শুধু কি তারই প্রতি উপদেশ বানী অবতীর্ণ হল? বস্তুতঃ ওরা আমার উপদেশ সম্পর্কে সন্দিহান; বরং ওরা এখনও আমার মার আস্বাদন করেনি।
[8] "Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us?" Nay! but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Qur'ân)! Nay, but they have not tasted (My) Torment!
[9] أَم عِندَهُم خَزائِنُ رَحمَةِ رَبِّكَ العَزيزِ الوَهّابِ
[9] না কি তাদের কাছে আপনার পরাক্রান্ত দয়াবান পালনকর্তার রহমতের কোন ভান্ডার রয়েছে?
[9] Or have they the treasures of the Mercy of your Lord, the All-Mighty, the Real Bestower?
[10] أَم لَهُم مُلكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالأَرضِ وَما بَينَهُما ۖ فَليَرتَقوا فِى الأَسبٰبِ
[10] নাকি নভোমন্ডল, ভূমন্ডল ও এতদুভয়ের মধ্যবর্তী সবকিছুর উপর তাদের সাম্রাজ্য রয়েছে? থাকলে তাদের আকাশে আরোহণ করা উচিত রশি ঝুলিয়ে।
[10] Or is it that the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them is theirs? If so, let them ascend up with means (to the heavens)!
[11] جُندٌ ما هُنالِكَ مَهزومٌ مِنَ الأَحزابِ
[11] এক্ষেত্রে বহু বাহিনীর মধ্যে ওদেরও এক বাহিনী আছে, যা পরাজিত হবে।
[11] (As they denied Allâh's Message) they will be a defeated host like the confederates of the old times (who were defeated).
[12] كَذَّبَت قَبلَهُم قَومُ نوحٍ وَعادٌ وَفِرعَونُ ذُو الأَوتادِ
[12] তাদের পূর্বেও মিথ্যারোপ করেছিল নূহের সম্প্রদায়, আদ, কীলক বিশিষ্ট ফেরাউন,
[12] Before them (were many who) belied (Messengers),— the people of Nûh (Noah); and 'Ad; and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) the man of stakes (with which he used to punish the people),
[13] وَثَمودُ وَقَومُ لوطٍ وَأَصحٰبُ لـَٔيكَةِ ۚ أُولٰئِكَ الأَحزابُ
[13] সামুদ, লূতের সম্প্রদায় ও আইকার লোকেরা। এরাই ছিল বহু বাহিনী।
[13] And Thamûd, and the people of Lut (Lot), and the Dwellers of the wood; such were the confederates.
[14] إِن كُلٌّ إِلّا كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ عِقابِ
[14] এদের প্রত্যেকেই পয়গম্বরগণের প্রতি মিথ্যারোপ করেছে। ফলে আমার আযাব প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়েছে।
[14] Not one of them but belied the Messengers, therefore My Torment was justified,
[15] وَما يَنظُرُ هٰؤُلاءِ إِلّا صَيحَةً وٰحِدَةً ما لَها مِن فَواقٍ
[15] কেবল একটি মহানাদের অপেক্ষা করছে, যাতে দম ফেলার অবকাশ থাকবে না।
[15] And these only wait for a single Saihah [shout (i.e. the blowing of the Trumpet by the angel Isrâfil)] there will be no pause or ending thereto [till everything will perish except Allâh (the only God full of Majesty, Bounty and Honour)].
[16] وَقالوا رَبَّنا عَجِّل لَنا قِطَّنا قَبلَ يَومِ الحِسابِ
[16] তারা বলে, হে আমাদের পরওয়ারদেগার, আমাদের প্রাপ্য অংশ হিসাব দিবসের আগেই দিয়ে দাও।
[16] They say: "Our Lord! Hasten to us Qittana (i.e. our Record of good and bad deeds so that we may see it) before the Day of Reckoning!"
[17] اصبِر عَلىٰ ما يَقولونَ وَاذكُر عَبدَنا داوۥدَ ذَا الأَيدِ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوّابٌ
[17] তারা যা বলে তাতে আপনি সবর করুন এবং আমার শক্তিশালী বান্দা দাউদকে স্মরণ করুন। সে ছিল আমার প্রতি প্রত্যাবর্তনশীল।
[17] Be patient (O Muhammad SAW) of what they say, and remember Our slave Dâwûd (David), endued with power. Verily, he was ever oft-returning in all matters and in repentance (toward Allâh).
[18] إِنّا سَخَّرنَا الجِبالَ مَعَهُ يُسَبِّحنَ بِالعَشِىِّ وَالإِشراقِ
[18] আমি পর্বতমালাকে তার অনুগামী করে দিয়েছিলাম, তারা সকাল-সন্ধ্যায় তার সাথে পবিত্রতা ঘোষণা করত;
[18] Verily, We made the mountains to glorify Our Praises with him [Dâwûd (David)] in the 'Ashi (i.e. after the mid-day till sunset) and Ishrâq (i.e. after the sunrise till mid-day).
[19] وَالطَّيرَ مَحشورَةً ۖ كُلٌّ لَهُ أَوّابٌ
[19] আর পক্ষীকুলকেও, যারা তার কাছে সমবেত হত। সবাই ছিল তাঁর প্রতি প্রত্যাবর্তনশীল।
[19] And (so did) the birds assembled: all obedient to him [Dâwûd (David)] [i.e. they came and glorified Allah's Praises along with him]. (Tafsir Al-Qurtubi)
[20] وَشَدَدنا مُلكَهُ وَءاتَينٰهُ الحِكمَةَ وَفَصلَ الخِطابِ
[20] আমি তাঁর সাম্রাজ্যকে সুদৃঢ় করেছিলাম এবং তাঁকে দিয়েছিলাম প্রজ্ঞা ও ফয়সালাকারী বাগ্নীতা।
[20] We made his kingdom strong and gave him Al-Hikmah (Prophethood) and sound judgement in speech and decision.
[21] ۞ وَهَل أَتىٰكَ نَبَؤُا۟ الخَصمِ إِذ تَسَوَّرُوا المِحرابَ
[21] আপনার কাছে দাবীদারদের বৃত্তান্ত পৌছেছে, যখন তারা প্রাচীর ডিঙ্গীয়ে এবাদত খানায় প্রবেশ করেছিল।
[21] And has the news of the litigants reached you? When they climbed over the wall into (his) Mihrâb (a praying place or a private room,)
[22] إِذ دَخَلوا عَلىٰ داوۥدَ فَفَزِعَ مِنهُم ۖ قالوا لا تَخَف ۖ خَصمانِ بَغىٰ بَعضُنا عَلىٰ بَعضٍ فَاحكُم بَينَنا بِالحَقِّ وَلا تُشطِط وَاهدِنا إِلىٰ سَواءِ الصِّرٰطِ
[22] যখন তারা দাউদের কাছে অনুপ্রবেশ করল, তখন সে সন্ত্রস্ত হয়ে পড়ল। তারা বললঃ ভয় করবেন না; আমরা বিবদমান দুটি পক্ষ, একে অপরের প্রতি বাড়াবাড়ি করেছি। অতএব, আমাদের মধ্যে ন্যায়বিচার করুন, অবিচার করবেন না। আমাদেরকে সরল পথ প্রদর্শন করুন।
[22] When they entered in upon Dâwûd (David), he was terrified of them, They said: "Fear not! (We are) two litigants, one of whom has wronged the other, therefore judge between us with truth, and treat us not with injustice, and guide us to the Right Way.
[23] إِنَّ هٰذا أَخى لَهُ تِسعٌ وَتِسعونَ نَعجَةً وَلِىَ نَعجَةٌ وٰحِدَةٌ فَقالَ أَكفِلنيها وَعَزَّنى فِى الخِطابِ
[23] সে আমার ভাই, সে নিরানব্বই দুম্বার মালিক আর আমি মালিক একটি মাদী দুম্বার। এরপরও সে বলেঃ এটিও আমাকে দিয়ে দাও। সে কথাবার্তায় আমার উপর বল প্রয়োগ করে।
[23] Verily, this my brother (in religion) has ninety nine ewes, while I have (only) one ewe, and he says: "Hand it over to me, and he overpowered me in speech."
[24] قالَ لَقَد ظَلَمَكَ بِسُؤالِ نَعجَتِكَ إِلىٰ نِعاجِهِ ۖ وَإِنَّ كَثيرًا مِنَ الخُلَطاءِ لَيَبغى بَعضُهُم عَلىٰ بَعضٍ إِلَّا الَّذينَ ءامَنوا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ وَقَليلٌ ما هُم ۗ وَظَنَّ داوۥدُ أَنَّما فَتَنّٰهُ فَاستَغفَرَ رَبَّهُ وَخَرَّ راكِعًا وَأَنابَ ۩
[24] দাউদ বললঃ সে তোমার দুম্বাটিকে নিজের দুম্বাগুলোর সাথে সংযুক্ত করার দাবী করে তোমার প্রতি অবিচার করেছে। শরীকদের অনেকেই একে অপরের প্রতি জুলুম করে থাকে। তবে তারা করে না, যারা আল্লাহর প্রতি বিশ্বাসী ও সৎকর্ম সম্পাদনকারী। অবশ্য এমন লোকের সংখ্যা অল্প। দাউদের খেয়াল হল যে, আমি তাকে পরীক্ষা করছি। অতঃপর সে তার পালনকর্তার কাছে ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা করল, সেজদায় লুটিয়ে পড়ল এবং তাঁর দিকে প্রত্যাবর্তন করল।
[24] [Dâwûd (David)] said (immediately without listening to the opponent): "He has wronged you in demanding your ewe in addition to his ewes. And, verily, many partners oppress one another, except those who believe and do righteous good deeds, and they are few." And Dâwûd (David) guessed that We have tried him and he sought Forgiveness of his Lord, and he fell down prostrate and turned (to Allâh) in repentance.
[25] فَغَفَرنا لَهُ ذٰلِكَ ۖ وَإِنَّ لَهُ عِندَنا لَزُلفىٰ وَحُسنَ مَـٔابٍ
[25] আমি তার সে অপরাধ ক্ষমা করলাম। নিশ্চয় আমার কাছে তার জন্যে রয়েছে উচ্চ মর্তবা ও সুন্দর আবাসস্থল।
[25] So We forgave him that, and verily, for him is a near access to Us, and a good place of (final) return (Paradise).
[26] يٰداوۥدُ إِنّا جَعَلنٰكَ خَليفَةً فِى الأَرضِ فَاحكُم بَينَ النّاسِ بِالحَقِّ وَلا تَتَّبِعِ الهَوىٰ فَيُضِلَّكَ عَن سَبيلِ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ الَّذينَ يَضِلّونَ عَن سَبيلِ اللَّهِ لَهُم عَذابٌ شَديدٌ بِما نَسوا يَومَ الحِسابِ
[26] হে দাউদ! আমি তোমাকে পৃথিবীতে প্রতিনিধি করেছি, অতএব, তুমি মানুষের মাঝে ন্যায়সঙ্গতভাবে রাজত্ব কর এবং খেয়াল-খুশীর অনুসরণ করো না। তা তোমাকে আল্লাহর পথ থেকে বিচ্যুত করে দেবে। নিশ্চয় যারা আল্লাহর পথ থেকে বিচ্যুত হয়, তাদের জন্যে রয়েছে কঠোর শাস্তি, এ কারণে যে, তারা হিসাবদিবসকে ভূলে যায়।
[26] O Dâwûd (David)! Verily! We have placed you as a successor on earth, so judge you between men in truth (and justice) and follow not your desire for it will mislead you from the Path of Allâh. Verily! those who wander astray from the Path of Allâh (shall) have a severe torment, because they forgot the Day of Reckoning.
[27] وَما خَلَقنَا السَّماءَ وَالأَرضَ وَما بَينَهُما بٰطِلًا ۚ ذٰلِكَ ظَنُّ الَّذينَ كَفَروا ۚ فَوَيلٌ لِلَّذينَ كَفَروا مِنَ النّارِ
[27] আমি আসমান-যমীন ও এতদুভয়ের মধ্যবর্তী কোন কিছু অযথা সৃষ্টি করিনি। এটা কাফেরদের ধারণা। অতএব, কাফেরদের জন্যে রয়েছে দূর্ভোগ অর্থাৎ জাহান্নাম।
[27] And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them without purpose! That is the consideration of those who disbelieve! Then woe to those who disbelieve (in Islâmic Monotheism) from the Fire!
[28] أَم نَجعَلُ الَّذينَ ءامَنوا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ كَالمُفسِدينَ فِى الأَرضِ أَم نَجعَلُ المُتَّقينَ كَالفُجّارِ
[28] আমি কি বিশ্বাসী ও সৎকর্মীদেরকে পৃথিবীতে বিপর্যয় সৃষ্টিকারী কাফেরদের সমতুল্য করে দেব? না খোদাভীরুদেরকে পাপাচারীদের সম্মান করে দেব।
[28] Shall We treat those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh — Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, as Mufsidûn (those who associate partners in worship with Allâh and commit crimes) on earth? Or shall We treat the Muttaqûn (pious - see V.2:2), as the Fujjâr (criminals, disbelievers, the wicked)?
[29] كِتٰبٌ أَنزَلنٰهُ إِلَيكَ مُبٰرَكٌ لِيَدَّبَّروا ءايٰتِهِ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُولُوا الأَلبٰبِ
[29] এটি একটি বরকতময় কিতাব, যা আমি আপনার প্রতি বরকত হিসেবে অবতীর্ণ করেছি, যাতে মানুষ এর আয়াতসূহ লক্ষ্য করে এবং বুদ্ধিমানগণ যেন তা অনুধাবন করে।
[29] (This is) a Book (the Qur'ân) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember.
[30] وَوَهَبنا لِداوۥدَ سُلَيمٰنَ ۚ نِعمَ العَبدُ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوّابٌ
[30] আমি দাউদকে সোলায়মান দান করেছি। সে একজন উত্তম বান্দা। সে ছিল প্রত্যাবর্তনশীল।
[30] And to Dâwûd (David) We gave Sulaimân (Solomon). How excellent a slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)!
[31] إِذ عُرِضَ عَلَيهِ بِالعَشِىِّ الصّٰفِنٰتُ الجِيادُ
[31] যখন তার সামনে অপরাহ্নে উৎকৃষ্ট অশ্বরাজি পেশ করা হল,
[31] When there were displayed before him, in the afternoon, well trained horses of the highest breed [for Jihâd (holy fighting in Allâh's Cause)]
[32] فَقالَ إِنّى أَحبَبتُ حُبَّ الخَيرِ عَن ذِكرِ رَبّى حَتّىٰ تَوارَت بِالحِجابِ
[32] তখন সে বললঃ আমি তো আমার পরওয়ারদেগারের স্মরণে বিস্মৃত হয়ে সম্পদের মহব্বতে মুগ্ধ হয়ে পড়েছি-এমনকি সূর্য ডুবে গেছে।
[32] And He said: "I did love the good (these horses) instead of remembering my Lord (in my 'Asr prayer)" till the time was over, and (the sun) had hidden in the veil (of night).
[33] رُدّوها عَلَىَّ ۖ فَطَفِقَ مَسحًا بِالسّوقِ وَالأَعناقِ
[33] এগুলোকে আমার কাছে ফিরিয়ে আন। অতঃপর সে তাদের পা ও গলদেশ ছেদন করতে শুরু করল।
[33] Then he said "Bring them (horses) back to me." Then he began to pass his hand over their legs and their necks (till the end of the display).
[34] وَلَقَد فَتَنّا سُلَيمٰنَ وَأَلقَينا عَلىٰ كُرسِيِّهِ جَسَدًا ثُمَّ أَنابَ
[34] আমি সোলায়মানকে পরীক্ষা করলাম এবং রেখে দিলাম তার সিংহাসনের উপর একটি নিস্প্রাণ দেহ। অতঃপর সে রুজু হল।
[34] And, indeed We did try Sulaimân (Solomon) and We placed on his throne Jasad (a devil, so he lost his kingdom for a while) and he did return (to Allâh with obedience and in repentance and to his throne and kingdom by the Grace of Allâh).
[35] قالَ رَبِّ اغفِر لى وَهَب لى مُلكًا لا يَنبَغى لِأَحَدٍ مِن بَعدى ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الوَهّابُ
[35] সোলায়মান বললঃ হে আমার পালনকর্তা, আমাকে মাফ করুন এবং আমাকে এমন সাম্রাজ্য দান করুন যা আমার পরে আর কেউ পেতে পারবে না। নিশ্চয় আপনি মহাদাতা।
[35] He said: "My Lord! Forgive me, and bestow upon me a kingdom such as shall not belong to any other after me: Verily, You are the Bestower."
[36] فَسَخَّرنا لَهُ الرّيحَ تَجرى بِأَمرِهِ رُخاءً حَيثُ أَصابَ
[36] তখন আমি বাতাসকে তার অনুগত করে দিলাম, যা তার হুকুমে অবাধে প্রবাহিত হত যেখানে সে পৌছাতে চাইত।
[36] So, We subjected to him the wind, it blew gently his order whithersoever he willed,
[37] وَالشَّيٰطينَ كُلَّ بَنّاءٍ وَغَوّاصٍ
[37] আর সকল শয়তানকে তার অধীন করে দিলাম অর্থৎ, যারা ছিল প্রাসাদ নির্মাণকারী ও ডুবুরী।
[37] And also the Shayâtin (devils) from the jinn (including) every kind of builder and diver,
[38] وَءاخَرينَ مُقَرَّنينَ فِى الأَصفادِ
[38] এবং অন্য আরও অনেককে অধীন করে দিলাম, যারা আবদ্ধ থাকত শৃঙ্খলে।
[38] And also others bound in fetters.
[39] هٰذا عَطاؤُنا فَامنُن أَو أَمسِك بِغَيرِ حِسابٍ
[39] এগুলো আমার অনুগ্রহ, অতএব, এগুলো কাউকে দাও অথবা নিজে রেখে দাও-এর কোন হিসেব দিতে হবে না।
[39] [Allâh said to Sulaimân (Solomon)]: "This is Our gift, so spend you or withhold, no account will be asked (of you)."
[40] وَإِنَّ لَهُ عِندَنا لَزُلفىٰ وَحُسنَ مَـٔابٍ
[40] নিশ্চয় তার জন্যে আমার কাছে রয়েছে মর্যাদা ও শুভ পরিণতি।
[40] And verily, for him is a near access to Us, and a good (final) return (Paradise).
[41] وَاذكُر عَبدَنا أَيّوبَ إِذ نادىٰ رَبَّهُ أَنّى مَسَّنِىَ الشَّيطٰنُ بِنُصبٍ وَعَذابٍ
[41] স্মরণ করুণ, আমার বান্দা আইয়্যুবের কথা, যখন সে তার পালনকর্তাকে আহবান করে বললঃ শয়তান আমাকে যন্ত্রণা ও কষ্ট পৌছিয়েছে।
[41] And remember Our slave Ayyûb (Job), when he invoked his Lord (saying): "Verily! Shaitân (Satan) has touched me with distress (by ruing my health) and torment (by ruing my wealth)!
[42] اركُض بِرِجلِكَ ۖ هٰذا مُغتَسَلٌ بارِدٌ وَشَرابٌ
[42] তুমি তোমার পা দিয়ে ভূমিতে আঘাত কর। ঝরণা নির্গত হল গোসল করার জন্যে শীতল ও পান করার জন্যে।
[42] (Allâh said to him): "Strike the ground with your foot: This is (a spring of) water to wash in, cool and a (refreshing) drink."
[43] وَوَهَبنا لَهُ أَهلَهُ وَمِثلَهُم مَعَهُم رَحمَةً مِنّا وَذِكرىٰ لِأُولِى الأَلبٰبِ
[43] আমি তাকে দিলাম তার পরিজনবর্গ ও তাদের মত আরও অনেক আমার পক্ষ থেকে রহমতস্বরূপ এবং বুদ্ধিমানদের জন্যে উপদেশস্বরূপ।
[43] And We gave him (back) his family, and along with them the like thereof, as a Mercy from Us, and a Reminder for those who understand.
[44] وَخُذ بِيَدِكَ ضِغثًا فَاضرِب بِهِ وَلا تَحنَث ۗ إِنّا وَجَدنٰهُ صابِرًا ۚ نِعمَ العَبدُ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوّابٌ
[44] তুমি তোমার হাতে এক মুঠো তৃণশলা নাও, তদ্বারা আঘাত কর এবং শপথ ভঙ্গ করো না। আমি তাকে পেলাম সবরকারী। চমৎকার বান্দা সে। নিশ্চয় সে ছিল প্রত্যাবর্তনশীল।
[44] "And take in your hand a bundle of thin grass and strike therewith (your wife), and break not your oath . Truly! We found him patient. How excellent (a) slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)!
[45] وَاذكُر عِبٰدَنا إِبرٰهيمَ وَإِسحٰقَ وَيَعقوبَ أُولِى الأَيدى وَالأَبصٰرِ
[45] স্মরণ করুন, হাত ও চোখের অধিকারী আমার বান্দা ইব্রাহীম, ইসহাক ও ইয়াকুবের কথা।
[45] And remember Our slaves, Ibrâhim (Abraham), Ishâq (Isaac), and Ya'qûb (Jacob), (all) owners of strength (in worshipping Us) and (also) of religious understanding.
[46] إِنّا أَخلَصنٰهُم بِخالِصَةٍ ذِكرَى الدّارِ
[46] আমি তাদের এক বিশেষ গুণ তথা পরকালের স্মরণ দ্বারা স্বাতন্ত্র্য দান করেছিলাম।
[46] Verily, We did choose them by granting them (a good thing,— i.e.) the remembrance of the home [in the Hereafter and they used to make the people remember it, and also they used to invite the people to obey Allâh and to do good deeds for the Hereafter].
[47] وَإِنَّهُم عِندَنا لَمِنَ المُصطَفَينَ الأَخيارِ
[47] আর তারা আমার কাছে মনোনীত ও সৎলোকদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত।
[47] And they are with Us, verily, of the chosen and the best!
[48] وَاذكُر إِسمٰعيلَ وَاليَسَعَ وَذَا الكِفلِ ۖ وَكُلٌّ مِنَ الأَخيارِ
[48] স্মরণ করুণ, ইসমাঈল, আল ইয়াসা ও যুলকিফলের কথা। তারা প্রত্যেকেই গুনীজন।
[48] And remember Ismâ'il (Ishmael), Al¬Yasa'â (Elisha), and Dhul-Kifl (Isaiah), all are among the best.
[49] هٰذا ذِكرٌ ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلمُتَّقينَ لَحُسنَ مَـٔابٍ
[49] এ এক মহৎ আলোচনা। খোদাভীরুদের জন্যে রয়েছে উত্তম ঠিকানা-
[49] This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqûn (pious and righteous persons - see V.2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), -,
[50] جَنّٰتِ عَدنٍ مُفَتَّحَةً لَهُمُ الأَبوٰبُ
[50] তথা স্থায়ী বসবাসের জান্নাত; তাদের জন্যে তার দ্বার উম্মুক্ত রয়েছে।
[50] 'Adn (Edn) Paradise (everlasting Gardens), whose doors will be opened for them.
[51] مُتَّكِـٔينَ فيها يَدعونَ فيها بِفٰكِهَةٍ كَثيرَةٍ وَشَرابٍ
[51] সেখানে তারা হেলান দিয়ে বসবে। তারা সেখানে চাইবে অনেক ফল-মূল ও পানীয়।
[51] Therein they will recline; therein they will call for fruits in abundance and drinks;
[52] ۞ وَعِندَهُم قٰصِرٰتُ الطَّرفِ أَترابٌ
[52] তাদের কাছে থাকবে আনতনয়না সমবয়স্কা রমণীগণ।
[52] And beside them will be Qasirat-at-Tarf chaste females (wives) restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands)], (and) of equal ages.
[53] هٰذا ما توعَدونَ لِيَومِ الحِسابِ
[53] তোমাদেরকে এরই প্রতিশ্রুতি দেয়া হচ্ছে বিচার দিবসের জন্যে।
[53] This it is what you (Al-Muttaqûn - the pious. See V.2:2) are promised for the Day of Reckoning!
[54] إِنَّ هٰذا لَرِزقُنا ما لَهُ مِن نَفادٍ
[54] এটা আমার দেয়া রিযিক যা শেষ হবে না।
[54] (It will be said to them)! Verily, this is Our Provision which will never finish;
[55] هٰذا ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلطّٰغينَ لَشَرَّ مَـٔابٍ
[55] এটাতো শুনলে, এখন দুষ্টদের জন্যে রয়েছে নিকৃষ্ট ঠিকানা
[55] This is so! And for the Tâghûn (transgressors, disobedient to Allâh and His Messenger - disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh, criminals), will be an evil final return (Fire),
[56] جَهَنَّمَ يَصلَونَها فَبِئسَ المِهادُ
[56] তথা জাহান্নাম। তারা সেখানে প্রবেশ করবে। অতএব, কত নিকৃষ্ট সেই আবাস স্থল।
[56] Hell! Where they will burn, and worst (indeed) is that place to rest!
[57] هٰذا فَليَذوقوهُ حَميمٌ وَغَسّاقٌ
[57] এটা উত্তপ্ত পানি ও পঁূজ; অতএব তারা একে আস্বাদন করুক।
[57] This is so! Then let them taste it, a boiling fluid and dirty wound discharges.
[58] وَءاخَرُ مِن شَكلِهِ أَزوٰجٌ
[58] এ ধরনের আরও কিছু শাস্তি আছে।
[58] And other (torments) of similar kind — all together!
[59] هٰذا فَوجٌ مُقتَحِمٌ مَعَكُم ۖ لا مَرحَبًا بِهِم ۚ إِنَّهُم صالُوا النّارِ
[59] এই তো একদল তোমাদের সাথে প্রবেশ করছে। তাদের জন্যে অভিনন্দন নেই তারা তো জাহান্নামে প্রবেশ করবে।
[59] This is a troop entering with you (in Hell), no welcome for them! Verily, they shall burn in the Fire!
[60] قالوا بَل أَنتُم لا مَرحَبًا بِكُم ۖ أَنتُم قَدَّمتُموهُ لَنا ۖ فَبِئسَ القَرارُ
[60] তারা বলবে, তোমাদের জন্যে ও তো অভিনন্দন নেই। তোমরাই আমাদেরকে এ বিপদের সম্মুখীন করেছ। অতএব, এটি কতই না ঘৃণ্য আবাসস্থল।
[60] (The followers of the misleaders will say): "Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you! It is you (misleaders) who brought this upon us (because you misled us in the world), so evil is this place to stay in!"
[61] قالوا رَبَّنا مَن قَدَّمَ لَنا هٰذا فَزِدهُ عَذابًا ضِعفًا فِى النّارِ
[61] তারা বলবে, হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা, যে আমাদেরকে এর সম্মুখীন করেছে, আপনি জাহান্নামে তার শাস্তি দ্বিগুণ করে দিন।
[61] They will say: "Our Lord! Whoever brought this upon us, add to him a double torment in the Fire!"
[62] وَقالوا ما لَنا لا نَرىٰ رِجالًا كُنّا نَعُدُّهُم مِنَ الأَشرارِ
[62] তারা আরও বলবে, আমাদের কি হল যে, আমরা যাদেরকে মন্দ লোক বলে গণ্য করতাম, তাদেরকে এখানে দেখছি না।
[62] And they will say: "What is the matter with us that we see not men whom we used to count among the bad ones?"
[63] أَتَّخَذنٰهُم سِخرِيًّا أَم زاغَت عَنهُمُ الأَبصٰرُ
[63] আমরা কি অহেতুক তাদেরকে ঠাট্টার পাত্র করে নিয়েছিলাম, না আমাদের দৃষ্টি ভুল করছে?
[63] Did we take them as an object of mockery, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?"
[64] إِنَّ ذٰلِكَ لَحَقٌّ تَخاصُمُ أَهلِ النّارِ
[64] এটা অর্থাৎ জাহান্নামীদের পারস্পরিক বাক-বিতন্ডা অবশ্যম্ভাবী।
[64] Verily, that is the very truth, the mutual dispute of the people of the Fire!
[65] قُل إِنَّما أَنا۠ مُنذِرٌ ۖ وَما مِن إِلٰهٍ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الوٰحِدُ القَهّارُ
[65] বলুন, আমি তো একজন সতর্ককারী মাত্র এবং এক পরাক্রমশালী আল্লাহ ব্যতীত কোন উপাস্য নেই।
[65] Say (O Muhammad SAW): "I am only a warner and there is no Ilâh (God) except Allâh (none has the right to be worshipped but Allâh) the One, the Irresistible,
[66] رَبُّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالأَرضِ وَما بَينَهُمَا العَزيزُ الغَفّٰرُ
[66] তিনি আসমান-যমীন ও এতদুভয়ের মধ্যবর্তী সব কিছুর পালনকর্তা, পরাক্রমশালী, মার্জনাকারী।
[66] "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving."
[67] قُل هُوَ نَبَؤٌا۟ عَظيمٌ
[67] বলুন, এটি এক মহাসংবাদ,
[67] Say: "That (this Qur'ân) is a great news,
[69] ما كانَ لِىَ مِن عِلمٍ بِالمَلَإِ الأَعلىٰ إِذ يَختَصِمونَ
[69] ঊর্ধ্ব জগৎ সম্পর্কে আমার কোন জ্ঞান ছিল না যখন ফেরেশতারা কথাবার্তা বলছিল।
[69] "I had no knowledge of the chiefs (angels) on high when they were disputing and discussing (about the creation of Adam).
[70] إِن يوحىٰ إِلَىَّ إِلّا أَنَّما أَنا۠ نَذيرٌ مُبينٌ
[70] আমার কাছে এ ওহীই আসে যে, আমি একজন স্পষ্ট সতর্ককারী।
[70] "Only this has been revealed to me, that I am a plain warner."
[71] إِذ قالَ رَبُّكَ لِلمَلٰئِكَةِ إِنّى خٰلِقٌ بَشَرًا مِن طينٍ
[71] যখন আপনার পালনকর্তা ফেরেশতাগণকে বললেন, আমি মাটির মানুষ সৃষ্টি করব।
[71] (Remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "Truly, I am going to create man from clay"
[72] فَإِذا سَوَّيتُهُ وَنَفَختُ فيهِ مِن روحى فَقَعوا لَهُ سٰجِدينَ
[72] যখন আমি তাকে সুষম করব এবং তাতে আমার রূহ ফুঁকে দেব, তখন তোমরা তার সম্মুখে সেজদায় নত হয়ে যেয়ো।
[72] So when I have fashioned him and breathed into him (his) soul created by Me, then you fall down prostrate to him."
[73] فَسَجَدَ المَلٰئِكَةُ كُلُّهُم أَجمَعونَ
[73] অতঃপর সমস্ত ফেরেশতাই একযোগে সেজদায় নত হল,
[73] So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them:
[74] إِلّا إِبليسَ استَكبَرَ وَكانَ مِنَ الكٰفِرينَ
[74] কিন্তু ইবলীস; সে অহংকার করল এবং অস্বীকারকারীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়ে গেল।
[74] Except Iblîs (Satan) he was proud and was one of the disbelievers.
[75] قالَ يٰإِبليسُ ما مَنَعَكَ أَن تَسجُدَ لِما خَلَقتُ بِيَدَىَّ ۖ أَستَكبَرتَ أَم كُنتَ مِنَ العالينَ
[75] আল্লাহ বললেন, হে ইবলীস, আমি স্বহস্তে যাকে সৃষ্টি করেছি, তার সম্মুখে সেজদা করতে তোমাকে কিসে বাধা দিল? তুমি অহংকার করলে, না তুমি তার চেয়ে উচ্চ মর্যাদা সম্পন্ন?
[75] (Allâh) said: "O Iblîs (Satan)! What prevents you from prostrating yourself to one whom I have created with Both My Hands. Are you too proud (to fall prostrate to Adam) or are you one of the high exalted?"
[76] قالَ أَنا۠ خَيرٌ مِنهُ ۖ خَلَقتَنى مِن نارٍ وَخَلَقتَهُ مِن طينٍ
[76] সে বললঃ আমি তার চেয়ে উত্তম আপনি আমাকে আগুনের দ্বারা সৃষ্টি করেছেন, আর তাকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন মাটির দ্বারা।
[76] [Iblîs (Satan)] said: "I am better than he, You created me from fire, and You created him from clay."
[77] قالَ فَاخرُج مِنها فَإِنَّكَ رَجيمٌ
[77] আল্লাহ বললেনঃ বের হয়ে যা, এখান থেকে। কারণ, তুই অভিশপ্ত।
[77] (Allâh) said: "Then get out from here, for verily, you are outcast.
[78] وَإِنَّ عَلَيكَ لَعنَتى إِلىٰ يَومِ الدّينِ
[78] তোর প্রতি আমার এ অভিশাপ বিচার দিবস পর্যন্ত স্থায়ী হবে।
[78] "And verily!, My Curse is on you till the Day of Recompense."
[79] قالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرنى إِلىٰ يَومِ يُبعَثونَ
[79] সে বললঃ হে আমার পালনকর্তা, আপনি আমাকে পুনরুত্থান দিবস পর্যন্ত অবকাশ দিন।
[79] [Iblîs (Satan)] said: "My Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are resurrected."
[80] قالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ المُنظَرينَ
[80] আল্লঅহ বললেনঃ তোকে অবকাশ দেয়া হল।
[80] (Allâh) said: "Verily! You are of those allowed respite
[81] إِلىٰ يَومِ الوَقتِ المَعلومِ
[81] সে সময়ের দিন পর্যন্ত যা জানা।
[81] "Till the Day of the time appointed."
[82] قالَ فَبِعِزَّتِكَ لَأُغوِيَنَّهُم أَجمَعينَ
[82] সে বলল, আপনার ইযযতের কসম, আমি অবশ্যই তাদের সবাইকে বিপথগামী করে দেব।
[82] [Iblîs (Satan)] said: "By Your Might, then I will surely mislead them all,
[83] إِلّا عِبادَكَ مِنهُمُ المُخلَصينَ
[83] তবে তাদের মধ্যে যারা আপনার খাঁটি বান্দা, তাদেরকে ছাড়া।
[83] "Except Your chosen slaves amongst them (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islâmic Monotheism)."
[84] قالَ فَالحَقُّ وَالحَقَّ أَقولُ
[84] আল্লাহ বললেনঃ তাই ঠিক, আর আমি সত্য বলছি-
[84] (Allâh) said: "The Truth is,— and the Truth I say, —
[85] لَأَملَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكَ وَمِمَّن تَبِعَكَ مِنهُم أَجمَعينَ
[85] তোর দ্বারা আর তাদের মধ্যে যারা তোর অনুসরণ করবে তাদের দ্বারা আমি জাহান্নাম পূর্ণ করব।
[85] That I will fill Hell with you [Iblîs (Satan)] and those of them (mankind) that follow you, together."
[86] قُل ما أَسـَٔلُكُم عَلَيهِ مِن أَجرٍ وَما أَنا۠ مِنَ المُتَكَلِّفينَ
[86] বলুন, আমি তোমাদের কাছে কোন প্রতিদান চাই না আর আমি লৌকিকতাকারীও নই।
[86] Say (O Muhammad SAW): "No wage do I ask of you for this (the Qur'ân), nor am I one of the Mutakallifûn (those who pretend and fabricate things which do not exist).
[87] إِن هُوَ إِلّا ذِكرٌ لِلعٰلَمينَ
[87] এটা তো বিশ্ববাসীর জন্যে এক উপদেশ মাত্র।
[87] "It (this Qur'ân) is only a Reminder for all the 'Alamîn (mankind and jinn).
