আল ফীল (হাতি)

بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

শুরু করছি আল্লাহর নামে যিনি পরম করুণাময়, অতি দয়ালু

[1] أَلَم تَرَ كَيفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصحٰبِ الفيلِ

[1] আপনি কি দেখেননি আপনার পালনকর্তা হস্তীবাহিনীর সাথে কিরূপ ব্যবহার করেছেন?

[1] Have you (O Muhammad (SAW)) not seen how your Lord dealt with the Owners of the Elephant? [The elephant army which came from Yemen under the command of Abrahah Al-Ashram intending to destroy the Ka'bah at Makkah].

[2] أَلَم يَجعَل كَيدَهُم فى تَضليلٍ

[2] তিনি কি তাদের চক্রান্ত নস্যাৎ করে দেননি?

[2] Did He not make their plot go astray?

[3] وَأَرسَلَ عَلَيهِم طَيرًا أَبابيلَ

[3] তিনি তাদের উপর প্রেরণ করেছেন ঝাঁকে ঝাঁকে পাখী,

[3] And He sent against them birds, in flocks,

---

[4] تَرميهِم بِحِجارَةٍ مِن سِجّيلٍ

[4] যারা তাদের উপর পাথরের কংকর নিক্ষেপ করছিল।

[4] Striking them with stones of Sijjîl (baked clay).

---

[5] فَجَعَلَهُم كَعَصفٍ مَأكولٍ

[5] অতঃপর তিনি তাদেরকে ভক্ষিত তৃণসদৃশ করে দেন।

[5] And He made them like (an empty field of) stalks (of which the corn has been eaten up by cattle).
